Life's a Journey Follow-up to the Men's Inner Journey |
Overview Registering Inspiration
We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. - Joseph Campbell Transformation consists of two parts, the awakening, followed by the development of a mindfulness practice for integration. The awakening is sudden and unexpected, whereas the integration is gradual and requires planning. To address both we came up with the Men’s Inner Journey, a 3.5-day residential retreat designed to facilitate the awakening - followed by a 8-week Life’s a Journey program designed to help integrate the awakening through a practice of becoming more mindful, more conscious and more alert. As a participant of the retreat, men often experienced a release of energy that is deeply cleansing, which constitutes the ‘awakening’. This awakening tends to send a ripple of change throughout a person's life he may not fully appreciate for days, even weeks afterwards. And because the release tends to be deep, it affects emotional addiction on a fundamental level, which is why developing a practice of mindfulness is so important. In addition to the emotional support this program provides, it's designed in a way that insures that the awakening continues. |
